Director

Louie Bruce, owner of Sudliq Developments Ltd. (SDL), has over 40 years of experience in civil works and community development in Coral Harbour, Nunavut.

In 1986, he founded SDL, which began with road construction, house pads, solid waste facilities, water reservoir expansions, harbour dredging, and bridge construction.

Under his leadership, SDL has grown to include office leasing, snow removal, fuel delivery, cartage, and environmental remediation services across Nunavut.

Louie’s dedication to excellence and his deep understanding of Northern infrastructure needs have made SDL a cornerstone of the local economy, contributing to both community development and regional progress.

Director

Dino Bruce serves as president of Salumaq and Director of Operations with Sudliq Developments Ltd. (SDL) in Coral Harbour, Nunavut.

Dino has managed, supervised, and participated in various projects in his community of Coral Harbour, NU. He started his career with SDL as a gas attendant and fuel driver/aviation fuel handler from 1993 to 2000.

With this experience, Dino oversaw the fuel services contracts and other construction projects from 2000/01 to the present day. Dino now manages all major and minor construction projects (road building, harbour upgrades and dredging, access roads, solid waste upgrades, snow removal, and cartage services), airline agents for First Air, office leasing, and tourism/hunting guide (spring geese hunt).

Dino possesses extensive experience managing major and minor construction projects with Salumaq in this remote community of Nunavut. Since 2001, Dino has acted in a leadership role, including project director and Site Superintendent, for several remediation contracts on behalf of Canada, including the Coral Harbour Main Remediation Project, in NU.

Doris started in the accounting field since 1998 working for Sudliq Developments Ltd and various territorial and local departments. She is very connected to the local community being on the hamlet council from 2020-2024 and as a volunteer soccer coach for the past 10-years. During her free time, Doris loves to go fishing and camping.

Tim has extensive experience in Canada’s North, working within Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Yukon.

He has successfully managed both small-scale and multi-year, million-dollar projects. He is skilled at managing projects involving environmental site assessments and remediation, wastewater treatment design and installation, source water protection, and mine site closures and rehabilitation.

Tim specializes in managing projects in remote Northern locations. These projects often involve logistical challenges and coordinating staffing for project sites with difficult access. He is adept at cost management and control for projects where large volumes of work are completed in short field seasons.

He enjoys working with Indigenous and local communities ensuring that communities are well informed, and any community concerns are addressed for projects occurring in their areas.

Jonathan Markiewicz, B.Sc.H, P.Geo, QPESA is a Professional Environmental Geoscientist with over 20 years of relevant experience on a variety of environmental remediation projects across Canada.

Since 2002, he has contributed to remediation projects in Nunavut, the Yukon, Ontario, Alberta and Quebec, as well as environmental characterization in 10 provinces/territories within Canada and in the Middle East, Kuwait.

These efforts have included mine closures, aggregate production, tailings cover, site infrastructure decommissioning, landfill construction, hazardous material abatement projects, building demolitions, as well as numerous Phased Environmental Assessments and Remedial Action Plans.

Wayne Harris is a Senior Project Manager and Environmental Technician with 30 years of experience in various environmental and heavy civil disciplines.

A Certified Technician with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, Wayne has direct experience managing and supervising numerous projects for soil and groundwater remediation, brownfield remediation, marine remediation, site decommissioning, landfill construction and closure, heavy civil construction projects including site servicing, excavation and grading, and implementing project specific health and safety plans, policies and procedures.

Wayne’s experience includes northern and remote working environments and sites such as brownfields, landfills, marine, oil and gas, forestry, pulp and paper, mining, industrial and commercial, power generation and transportation.

Paul Bandler is a project manager with over 18 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation and hazardous materials quantification, packaging and disposal in multiple jurisdictions across Canada, including Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Labrador and Ontario.

Many of the projects Paul has managed in the northern territories have been on remote sites, involving coordinating multiple work crews in different locations simultaneously and using multiple means of transportation, including helicopters, fixed wing, rail, sealift and UTVs.

Paul has worked with both sealift companies that stop at Arviat and understands the limitations of that means of mobilization and demobilization.

Sandy has been working for Sudliq Developments Limited for 30 years. He first began his career as a heavy equipment operator. His vast experience in civil works which include; road construction, bridge building, house pad construction, water reservoir expansion, remediation projects,land farms, and other related civil work projects within Coral Harbour and Nunavut. Sandy, is currently the Works Foreman/Supervisor for small and large projects in Nunavut. His experience is valuable and his ability to work with our labour force/HEO is testament to the commitment and dedication over the storied career.
